"STERLING SILVER CROWN: Cape Heritage Collection : Dutch East India Company (V.O.C.) One Duit of 1745

Thirty-five years ago, in 1978, the Africana Commemorative Mint issued the Cape Heritage set commemorating the coins that circulated in South Africa in the very early years of our country" " Proof Coin weighs 37.3 grams and is 45.0 mm in diameter. It is struck in Sterling Silver (92.5% pure silver) and coated in gold"

"Each of the thirty Sterling Silver coins weighs 37.3 grams and is 45.0 mm in diameter (much larger and heavier than a Silver Crown or Full Kruger Rand). This converts to over one kilogram of pure silver for the collection. The coins were minted in brilliant proof quality"
