extant4cell
This 1840 2 Kopecks EM - close to dead condition. But, it's cipher, is it ornamented or not?
alexbq2
Yes, this is the "small" EM / ornamented cipher variant.
extant4cell
Thank you Alex. Just noticed that I don't have any ornamented cipher coins of this type. Tried to find them on eBay and this was the only one I could find in the last few days, so I bought it. Probably a mistake, should have waited longer, but rush - rush - rush... I am not going to collect the series in the new future, so a single example like this one will do for now... But I wish it was in a better condition... alexbq2
Let me look in my duplicates, I might have one. I like this series, there are 4 variants in a single year all from EM! If you look hard enough you can get them all. Although the alignment opposite of this one is tough, In the last 3-4 years (or whatever the time I spent looking for them), I think I've only seen 4 show up on eBay
extant4cell
Let me know if you find a duplicate in your collection, I'd love to have a better coin to represent ornamented cipher
