mdurante
Went through the toll booth and asked if he had any dollar coins. Said he just got some more so I gave him 10 bucks and he opened a new roll of Sacagawea dollars and game me nine. They all looked BU and when i got home I lined up the edge letters and noticed that on one of them the date, MM and all the letters and stars .. so basically everything on the edge seems to be filled in white or looks to be frosted. Here a pic of some of the letters sandwiched between two "normal" looking ones. Any ideas? Thanks, Marc

Vfox
I wonder if the sandblasted mint-sets have different edging dies? Could this possibly be a "satin finish" edge design? It seems like an interesting anomaly; please fill us in if you find more info.
mdurante
Thanks for the reply! Just saw this on Ken Potter's site talking about the "small" & 'Large" font 2007-P Adams dollars. Maybe something similar with the 2009-P sac dollars? http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/2007PDo...msEdgeTypes.htm
