akdrv
OTTAWA, June 25 /CNW Telbec/ - From June 25 to July 8, visitors to the Royal Canadian Mint's Sussex Drive facility will have a chance to see the world's first 100-kg, 99.999% pure gold bullion coin with a $1 million face value. The biggest gold coin in the world, and a marvel of Canadian engineering and craftsmanship, is on display for this very limited time to all visitors taking a guided tour of the Royal Canadian Mint. The Royal Canadian Mint's headquarters occupy an historic building in central Ottawa, the same premises on which the Mint was founded in 1908. Today, the Ottawa facility produces hand-crafted collector and commemorative coins, gold bullion coins, medals and medallions. It is here that all the master tooling is done to create the dies that strike coin designs for both circulation and commemorative issues. The Mint's gold refining and advanced engineering operations are also located in Ottawa. http://www.cnw.ca/fr/releases/archive/June2007/25/c8796.html
