tabbs
Sweden just issued two coins commemorating the botanist Carolus Linnaeus (Carl von Linné) who was born 300 years ago. http://www.linnaeus2007.se/ And that gold coin ... stares at you. The silver coin (face value 200 kr) shows Linnaeus and, on the other side, refers to his work "Systema Naturae". The gold coin features the "Researcher's Eye" as seen through a magnifying glass; the other side shows a butterfly and the motto "Naturae Mores Discere". More detailed info (in English) can be found here: http://www.riksbank.com/templates/Page.aspx?id=10886 Larger images of the gold coin: http://www.riksbank.com/upload/Bilder_riks...e_g_low_bak.jpg http://www.riksbank.com/upload/Bilder_riks..._g_low_fram.jpg <-- That's the eye!
