I have looked over this penny for a couple of hours and can't figure out how some of its features would have been caused. I even went as far as using a microscope. I marked up a photo to show some of what I'm talking about on the reverse. It is just very barely wider in circumference than a normal penny as well and this can be seen on the edge, as if it were pressed too hard from both directions.
