  1. Dave - Thank you. I put "seal" in my description but just saw something similar and it was called a medallion. A "seal" looks more like it to me as well. By the way nice note, may I ask were did you find that MPC? I have been looking for the one with the Bufflao on it, but so far I have only found Replicas in anything better than good condition.

  2. I just received this in the mail today. It is a 2008 Jordan 1 Dinar. It is a P-34, my 2010 SCWPM does not have the signature but I am guessing it is a "d" or "e". On the back over laying one of the Camels is a what I would call a “seal” but I am dont know the correct term. Does anyone know the correct term for it? Thank you.

  3. I don't know your budget, but Aussie predecimal doesn't come cheap these day, the note I posted above is one I picked up earlier this year in VF condition (a nice VF though) for over A$650 (as of today that translate to US$650!). I'm trying to get as much Aussie predecimal I can afford while I can, especially the George V & George VI issues.

I picked up one of these earlier this week

I have a reasonably poor budget, I limit myself to staying strictly within my collecting criteria which is “if it doesn’t have an animal on it then I don’t get it.” I appreciate that everyone is posting their notes, it helps me see what I am missing. Thank you.

  4. Ah the "kuponyi" which were like little worthless bits of paper that were easily faked. They were replaced with the first generation of hryven denominated notes that looked like they were printed in the 1930s. I didn't like using them in circulation because they were easy to mix up denominations - but even now it can be confusing with 1 and 5 hryven notes similar colours, and 2 and 10 hryven notes similar colours.

Interesting, what type of bird is it? It looks like a crane of sort.

  5. Thanks guys!

Would anyone be interested in an ongoing thread with these sorts of scans? I need to scan my collection anyway (for record/insurance purposes, you know, just in case).

That is interesting; my insurance company will not cover my collection. They say because it is paper. They will do coins though. This is my second though, I lost the first in fire.

  6. The Tatarstan notes are enigmatic, they usually never had denominations on them - only an assigned value. There are also many different varieties of them.

As you can see from the scan this one appears to have been cleaned. You can see faint hand written numbers on one side.
