China "BRASS" Medals.
worldcollectibles310 replied to worldcollectibles310's topic in World Coin Forum
I was also in the same boat as you I was not interested in Brass medals before until I was at an auction and I had seen some really cool and beautiful brass medals that had some slight toning and I decided to start collecting them. LOL! I like them. Not something I'd attempt to collect but something I definitely enjoy viewing. -

I have been collecting more brass coins. I believe Brass coins will make an upswing in popularity in years to come. .

I have a beautiful Large Banknote from India. It is really a beautiful note. To get a grade 65 from PMG was a nice reward. These notes at this size are made on thin paper that usually tear, wrinkle or crease. This note is in excellent shape!! I am not experienced with collecting Banknotes, but how come Banknotes from India are not popular? I think it is a great note! I display them at shows, but they always seem to get overlooked.

I have these great dates of 27g Silver 1 oz Pandas and there are many different price guides I use to sell these coins, but when I see these selling for 25.00 on eBay I have to ask myself how in the world would people believe that a1983,1984 or 1985 27g 1 oz Silver Panda coins would sell for that price unless it is obviously a fake coin? When the actual price for a 1983 MS69 2300.00 on Pricepedia or NGC is priced accordingly. Just curious to hear from the Coin World on what they think??

THANK YOU! -
Recently I had noticed a decrease in customers looking for Russian coins. Are people collecting old Russian (before 1940) coins or modern coins? I have some beautiful modern Platinum and Gold coins that have been graded PF70/PF69 and also Mint Proofs and they're stagnant on my Ebay store and at the coins shows. The older Russian coins I have are beautiful Silver and Copper coins all with great grades and some have beautiful toning. Any comments or suggestions please send me a message. Thank you in advance!!

I never really understood this coin until I read a great article from a gentleman who collect these types of coins. **The first large group of Norwegians arrived in America in 1825 via the sloop Restaurationen; they arrived in New York. As immigrants from Norway eventually became a large and important part of the US population, the Norse-American medal was sponsored and struck to mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the first immigrant group and was issued as part of the event's celebration in 1925. There were only 33,750 of these Norse THICK medals made and Anthony Swiatek has suggested that 2,000 may have been returned to the Mint for melting. Very interesting medal. In 2011, this coin sold at an auction for 3250.00 and today they are selling for about 325.00 a ridiculous decrease in price. This is a great piece of history of the US and in my opinion it should be priced higher than 325.00 Thank you for reading!

I have several types of Brass medals, but they are so hard to find prices. I have sold several at a nice price. The two major grading companies price guides are not listing the prices on these types of medals. Any suggestions to get prices on Brass Medals?? Any advice or link will be grateful!
