  1. Hi extant4cell. I read Russian translation of same article you posted at forum Staraya Moneta. Honestly I did not have opportunity to understand why you call IDEAL these 5 kopeck coins. There on Staraya Moneta forum I refrained from asking this as people there are too serious about their hobby. They possibly could just drown me in poop if I did. Could you explain to simple people as me what you meant?

  2. Theoretically due to "external environment" coin prices should go down. Collectible coins however do not tend to follow normal market trends as they are not an everyday necessity. Buyers will be less willing to pay high prices for collectible coins. Sellers however will hold to their coins till better times. There will be not many good coins to buy for cheap price.

  3. A scar on obverse looks as serious flan metal lamination. Laminated piece had by now broke off. Overall coin condition is poor. Edge inscription looks convincing but obverse and reverce are worn and cleaned so much that I cannot even be sure if coin is authentic. SPB stands for Sankt-Petersburg - a mint where it was struck.

one-kuna, thanks for the welcome and please accept my apology for the delay in replying to you. I bought that coin and posted my question prior to receiving it. Bought it for the date variety; Proof vs. MS was a curiosity bonus. I am still leaning towards "PF" but do not insist on it. As the saying goes art (proof) in the eyes of a beholder.

IMIS, could you please provide a link to a picture of coin we are talking about?
