Her Majesty, aka my 8 year old daughter found her first 100 year old coin today, a dateless buffalo with a mound on the reverse - a 1913. She is stoked.
Wow!

Ok, I feel really dumb, but where and what is a CoinStar Reject Bin?

Thanks for the advice everyone. By carefully, I mean properly stored, not thrown in there carelessly.
Thanks again!!

Erm, can anyone help?
-
Right now, my entire collection is carefully placed in a drawer. Will this damage the coins somehow?
-
Interesting!

I don't buy coins, I have a strict rule about finding everything in circulation. It may seem like a dumb question, but does anyone have any tips for finding things in circulation? I search rolls, by the way.

Don't clean at all, especially if it is a valuable coin. When I was little I would clean cents with soap and water, and even ketchup, but it didn't do anything.
Yeah, I've cleaned with ketchup, hot sauce, lemon juice, toothpaste... *sigh*

This morning buying a drink at 7-11 on the way to work got a British penny as a cent in change. Later in the day got a British 5 pence in change as a dime. "The British are coming, the British are coming!"

Does anyone know about that for sure? I mean, would it be like finding a wheat penny to find something from 1881?
-
Wow, that looks really interesting, I would love to read that.

Lemon juice, hot sauce and ketchup. Seriously?!
-
No! One of my earliest memories is cleaning my favorite shiny penny with that and taking it out. It was blackened.

A 1940 nickel in my change, totally mint condition.
