  1. I'm in Melbourne, FL their use to be a place at a shopping mall an AMEX travel agentcy, but it has been shuttered for over a year or so. The nearest is to me is Bank of America and the minimum is $100 USD to currency

nearest to that is orlando airport

If you find yourself in Orlando, a couple of the malls there have foreign exchange booths in them:

    - Florida Mall

    - Mall at Millenia

I've gotten stuff from both places before. Usually the very nice weekend girl at Florida Mall will take the time to search for better condition notes, if you ask. (and it's not busy)

  2. Bhutan: Bundles of 1 and 5 Ngultrum

    IMG_0523.jpg

Sri Lanka: Bundles of 10 and 20 Rupee

    IMG_0524.jpg

    Some loose low denomination Ngultum

    IMG_0525.jpg

Three different versions of the Hong Kong 20 Dollar Bills: Courtesy of a traveling friend. Not exactly UNC, but still really cool

    IMG_0527.jpg

    Everything, all together.

  3. Busy Month for me. My side job is booming, so I figured why not be nice to myself? Besides, the dollar (US that is) isn't what it used to be, so buy while you can, right?

Some new Venezuelan Bolivars (pegged at 2.15, but black market around 5:1)

    IMG_0516.jpg

Some new Saudi low denomination notes

    IMG_0517.jpg

New Colombian small size 1000 and 2000 Peso notes

    IMG_0518.jpg

Trinidad and Tobago: Small denominations. These photos do not do them justice. I just want to accumulate more of these.

    IMG_0519.jpg

Haiti: another place with beautiful notes. They almost feel like canvas paper.

    IMG_0520.jpg

The Yuan: Maybe headed for parity someday with the dollar? These were an odd find...at my local flea market we have some chinese merchants who put them out for 2/1.00 US. I managed to haggle them down to 6/1.00 US. At today's close: 6.99:1

    IMG_0521.jpg

Malawi: Bundles of 5 and 10 Kwacha

  4. Im back after a sad month and traveling around Florida during Spring Training.

The sad part was I had to put my printer and scanner out to pasture they stopped working. ;);)

My new toy does everything Print copy scan fax, lightscribe cd and dvd's

The other half i'm a big red sox fan so ifollewed the team and STAYED away from the "EVIL EMPIRE" compound the :ninja: yankees in tampa and their leader "DARTH" Dameon

    Latest additions are

Ukraine Uruguay Vanuatu Venzeula Vietnam (North and South) WEst African States Samoa Yemen

And a History of YugoSlavia through backnotes (still working on it 50 notes)

Anyone where i get my paws on some Euros? Besides a bank minimum perchase is 100 USD to their currency. I just need a couple NOT a bundle.

I was able to get mine from a Travelex at the airport. I called ahead and asked what they had, and if they could hold it for me so I could get it. My cost: 30 minutes parking at the airport, the face value of the notes + their commission cost. (I think it was a 5.95 charge, but after I came back a second time, she waived it for me.) I don't know where you are, but the Tampa airport always seems to have an abundance of UNC notes on Mondays.

  5. I got most of these a while ago, but never posted. After taking pics of the items I have for sale (go check it out!), I took these as well. The only brand new item is the new Venezuelan notes.

    New Venezuelan Bolivares Notes

I don't usually go after old silver or outmoded notes, but the silver can be re-sold, and my poker compatriots prefer using outmoded notes to chips (as do I, it's just cooler)

Oddly Enough, some of this stuff came from a bank, in UNC shape. I was shocked.

It's a lot to scan, so it might be a while before I scan this. More to get later this week, after I move the silver lot at the coin shop! =D

  7. Dbang - Yes, those coins are probably counterfeit. I'm no coin expert, so if another coin expert pops us and can tell me more, great.

Superbeast - I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to the notes I like (like the slovenian ones), but I can part with some. How many are you looking for?

I also have some new additions:

    spainno1.jpg

Courtesy of Spain No 1. Thanks Alfonso!

    birds_0002.jpg

More of the Surinamese Birds. I love these notes! I just want to buy them all, hoard them, and when I someday start my own island nation (lol), i'll use them as the currency.

  8. Rummage Sale Stuff (from a local flea market)

    oldchinesecoins_0005.jpg

Some old chinese coins in the 4 for a dollar bucket. Can't identify these, but they probably arent anything special.

    IMG_0326.jpg

Some small size notes from Bhutan.

I continue to be amazed at how everyone else in the world sees money. Looking at US money, it seems rather....dull in comparison.

I found some neat stuff (on the cheap, too. always looking for bargains) that, given the snails' pace that ebay sellers usually travel at, should arrive in a few weeks time:

    a lot of 5 polymers (5 New Zealand Dollar, 2x 2 Singapore Dollar, 1 Brunei Dollar, 2 Samoan Tala) for 6.50 (!)

    a set of 5, 10, 20 and 50 Nigerian Naira (New for 2006) for 5.10 per lot (bought 3)

  11. Got some new stuff.

These are the aforementioned West African Francs. I'd love to get more of these.

    IMG_0310.jpg

Indian Rupees, without the requisite staple holes.

    IMG_0309.jpg

Some Philippines small bills. These feel nice to the touch.

    IMG_0308.jpg

Some Honduran small bills. The design looks old on these.

I just cleared out my tech bench (anyone need computer parts? PM me.) and am going to have a garage sale to clear em out. After that, i'll order some more stuff.

  12. The winnings of a few auctions just arrived today:

    3x West African States 1000 Franc (2003) F

    2x West African States 2000 Franc (2003) A

    1x West African States 5000 Franc (2003) A

    4x India 10 Rupees (2006 issue)

I also found a neat import/export place local to me that gets stuff from time to time. They have a whole bunch of lesser known circulating currencies for dirt cheap. Saving up for a big buy there later.

I'll scan those three WAS notes in later, going on a mini vacation this weekend.

  13. Yet more stuff came in today. Woo!

    IMG_0130.jpg

I need a better storage container

575 Haitian Gourdes! I think I have a favorite currently circulating currency.

I also ordered a bunch of stuff (my old M:TG cards sold that were collecting dust) that should arrive shortly (based on the shop recommendations)
