  1. 1806 3 Kreuzer, Nurnberg. 18mm Link I like the wreath of roses on the obverse.
  2. c. 1794 ½ Penny Token, Great Britain D&H 478a - Middlesex, Sims' 28.5mm Link Garrick was one of the premiere actors of the London stage. This token was issued after his death.
  3. 1987 1 Rubel, Soviet Union Battle of Borodino monument 31mm Link
  4. Hehe. I like to rescue poor souls like the 1796 and give them a good home.
  5. 1987 1 Rubel, Soviet Union Battle of Borodino 31mm Link I don't normally collect modern stuff except when it relates, as this does, to the Napoleonic era. This commemorates the 175th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino.
  6. c. 1807 Alexander the Great, German States 16.5 x 15.5mm Link A scarce jeton from the Lauer workshop in Nuremberg. What is uncertain is the date, anything from 1806 through 1852 is possible. The certainty is that this is the work of Johann Jacob Lauer and from the workmanship is probably early in his career. Also around 1807 Napoleon was often compared to Alexander the Great.
  7. Can't beat it for the price. And I agree, nice design.
  8. 1796 Heros Buonapartes, France Hennin 763 d'Essling 696 24mm Link These come in about 6-8 varieties. All are relatively common except the variety where the bust faces left.
  9. 1808 6 Kreuzer, Wurttemberg. 20mm Link All six of the 6 kreuzer pieces came in a lot, $10 delivered.
  10. 1807(?) 6 Kreuzer, Wurttemberg 20mm Link The date is unreadable but this was the most common. 1807 6 Kreuzer, Wurttemberg. 20mm Link
  11. 1807 6 Kreuzer, Bavaria 20mm Link
  12. 1935 2000 reis, Brazil Won this at coin club tonight.
  13. 1808 6 Kreuzer, Bavaria. 21mm Link 1805 6 Kreuzer, Further Austria 21mm Link
  14. I have to say that I've always liked the Austrian 20 kreuzer throughout the entire Napoleonic era. They went through Joseph II, Leopold II and Francis II (I) with fairly minor changes (besides the bust of course) but each variety is a satisfying coin to hold in your hand. The only problem was that the bust(s) were extremely shallow in the engraving and almost no actual wear reduced them to VG in appearance. The 1791 is probably VF+ or XF- for type and some, like this 1815 piece: practically don't exist in a higher grade.
  15. 1791 20 Kreuzer, Austria 27.5mm Link Leopold II ruled only a few days more than 2 years. A result of this is the relative scarceness if anything bearing his image. Like all Austrian coinage of the period the bust wears away quickly.
  16. 1806 3 Stuber, Julich-Cleves-Berg 20mm Link There were two mintmark variants for 1806 3 stuber pieces; the S and this one, the Sr mintmark.
  17. 1804 3 Stuber, Julich-Cleves-Berg Link
  18. 1805 1 Pfennig, Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld Link Just an awful coin, but a very difficult German state to collect.
  19. 1806 20 Kreuzer, Austria. 27mm Link Prague mint.
  20. 1809 King George III Enters the Fiftieth Year of His Reign, Great Britain. BHM 654 45mm Link
  21. 1801 2 Soldi, Subalpine Republic 27mm Link This is the 5th of these I've collected. It's really tough to find one in decent shape.
  22. 1809 The Old Price Riots, Great Britain. BHM 677 25mm Link For a fuller story follow the link above.
  23. 1803 I Pfennig, Frankfurt. 21mm Link A filler, but at least it's a decent one.
