1octav
Weight - 28,5 grams, the obverse is almost worn out completly... the reverse is ok but looks like it is made of brass with a silver coating. The weight and aspect of the coins seem ok to me, what do you think about the coin authenticity? http://omnicoin.com/viewcoin/1021205
frank
I think it's authentic. The obverse of these Louis XV écus is almost always poorly struck; it's not all wear. The reverse looks fine. 1727 T isn't a rare date and mint for this coin, it's one of the most common. Why counterfeit it? Official weight is 29.5 grams, but 28.5 may well be in the ballpark for a worn coin.
1octav
Thank you for the input. I love these talers and this was a bargain, got if for 50$. So even though it is common, I like it.
