UncleKin
I am looking for a book or website that gives the metal content by percentage of mexican coins. Particularly, I am looking for the content of coins prior to the revaluation in the early 90's. So pre 90 coins. -Ken
tabbs
I already replied to your question regarding the 1000 pesos coin elsewhere; the catalog that I use does not have the precise details regarding its composition but will simply say "Al-N-Bro". Then, in the introductory part of the catalog, this Al-N-Bro alloy, and what it can be, is further explained. Maybe the Mexican central bank http://www.banxico.org.mx or the mint http://www.cmm.gob.mx has some more detailed info? The specifications, including compositions, of the current Mexican coins can be found here: http://www.banxico.org.mx/billetesymonedas...ion_actual.html Don't know whether they list compositions of older pieces too ...
