Thank you for the reply. While my mother is disappointed, I've always been fascinated with coins and this is the first gold piece I've held.

Hello all. My uncle gave my mom a large bag of mostly silver coins. Included was a 1893 gold, five dollar coin. We know nothing about coins and are seeking opinions about grade and value. Through my rudimentary searching it doesn't seem to be rare. Advice is also appreciated. Again, thank you in advance.
Edited to add: I can only upload one picture for some reason, so any advice in that regard is also welcome!
My mom was given a gold coin. Seeking help.

My Great Uncle had a lot of coins. The silver coins my mom was given weigh a little over 11 pounds. The coins were split three ways between my mother and her siblings. They divided them by weight save for the 5 gold coins. My mother got one gold coin and a very heavy antique gold ring. My aunt sold one of her gold coins recently for 3500.00. I suppose my mother's disappointment comes from thinking that her coin would be of similar value. Personally, I find it to be beautiful and I like the thought that people long ago carried that coin in their pockets. I would like to have it graded and placed in a proper holder to maintain its current condition. Could you suggest a grading company?
