I recently saw a debate on this at another forum, and I thought it would be interesting to start the debate here.
Would you like to discontinue the $1 bill and let it be replaced by a $1 coin??
Yes! And while we're at it, let's discountinue the $2 bill and replace it with a $2 coin. Let's also eliminate the 1 cent and 50 cent coins.
And there's my 5 cents worth.

Hum, thanks for the ideas. Well I am not too sure what to do with some of the giant copper coins that I have - they are just too big to have any standard size. For example: like this.
As you can see, they have some red brilliance in them, (well they are a bit too contrasted, so the colors are a bit too wrong in there )
I think sending to a slabbing company might be a good idea, but the packing, and customs is a headache to deal with. I had many nasty experiences with the customs here so Also, I don't know if overstriked coins are even worth slabbing.
Now those are a challenge!

You may want to try placing your coins in Kointains holders. The Kointain holder will then fit into a cardbard and mylar 2x2 that you can staple shut. Then you have the advantage of Identifying your coin by writing on the 2x2s. The 2x2 can then be stored in a 20 pocket page that fits into a three ring binder. I did an Uncirculated 20th Century type set using this method. Worked great.
Here's a source ofr the kointains.

I have not used albums to store my coins in, mainly because I do not want the album to tone out my coins.
I would like an album that you can put 2x2's or air-tites in the proper areas and can see the obverse and reverse that way. Maybe this album already exists and I just have not found it.
For now, I just keep my type sets together in 2x2 coin trays I get from Lighthouse
Hi-
I put together a 20th century type set with each coin placed in a Cointoin holder and then the holder and coin placed in a 2 x 2 staple type. Then stored the 2 x 2 in 20 pocket 3-ring binder pages. Absolutely no toning now for 10 years. Hope this might help Rabone.

I like the nickel three-centers. I have a few in my collection with interesting die clashes, which is pretty common for the series.

I decided to just use my name, it makes it easier. On the old site it was onejinx.

Crap! More for the must-have list!!!
Easy Abish. If I purchased every banknote that's "must have", I'd be in the poor house now. And remember, ya can't eat'em. Hmmm...well you could try, but I'm thinking that the polymers would go down hard.
