  1. I'm interested in buying one of the following for my personal collection. Can anyone here help me out?

50 ringgit (US$14.95), 2007. 20,000 special sets issued December 26, 2007 for RM60, and at face w/o packaging starting January 30, 2008. Green-blue. Portrait of the first king, Tuanku Abdul Rahman ibni Tuanku Muhammad at right, national flower hibiscus at center, songket weaving patterns in background and edges, signature (Tan Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, GABENOR). Malaysia’s first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj declaring independence, oil palm trees, microbiology technology, and 50th anniversary logo on back (logo will appear only on first 50 million notes). Security features include watermark portrait and 50 as electrotype watermark, fluorescent windowed security thread with repeating BNM RM50 (also as microtext), songket design as registration device, 50 as latent image, holographic stripe with 50 and hibiscus flower. Printer: Gieseke & Devrient (w/o imprint). 145 x 69 mm.

  2. If Owen doesn't use it, I don't think I would either. :ninja:

The reason I don't use it isn't because I have looked it over and found it wanting, but rather, because I already "track" my collection in Excel and don't want to invest the time necessary to switch to a new system unless it's demonstrably better. As my spreadsheet does what I want, I'm OK for now.

I agree that it would be great to have a database with all the Pick numbers from the Standard Catalog, along with scans, but such a thing doesn't exist. The NumisMaster site from Krause is presently too coin-focused.

As others have suggested, a simple print out of your collection from any database program or spreadsheet will prevent you from buying the same note twice. I have a spreadsheet with my collection listed, as well as my want list. That's all I need to carry to shows to buy new items.

  3. I know they make coin collecting software. But does anyone know of any banknote collecting software? Has anyone ever used any?

I am looking for (or want to create some kind)a list of each countries Pick numbers. I want it as a check-off list that i can take with me to coin shows. Has anyone ever made one of these or something like it?

    I haven't used it, but there's a program called I Collect Banknotes from http://www.vee-eye.com/.

  4. thanks for the link...helpful sight but that background is CRAP-TACULAR!!

Jeeze, thanks for the encouraging words. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve it, or do you just like to take pot shots at people who have invested a lot of energy into trying to create something useful?
