Msbambam

Hi all! I'm new to coin hunting. Can someone tell me If the penny (see link) below is a planchet error? The gouge on the reverse is darkened and engraved as if it has been burned. So I'm thinking it couldn't be post mint since it travels beneath the letters of "cents" Any suggestions? Thank you http://omnicoin.com/collection/Msbambam
