This is, of course, a 'Wooden Nickel'. It is from the Wheels of Time automobile museum in Peoria, IL. Wooden Nickels are very common advertising items that most people are familiar with. They are also exonumia that is collected by a number of people. I would suspect that many coin collectors probably have one or two in their collections that they have picked up along the way.
