tabbs
When a sword, a saber and a foil are directed at Beijing, it's ... Olympics time. The Monnaie de Paris just issued two coins dedicated to the 2008 Games, with probably more to follow. (Their annual output is immense ...) The design looks a little odd, with the three pointing at the Chinese capital, but is interesting. The "Fencing" piece is available in silver (face value €1.50) and gold (face value €10). And the French Mint has similarly hefty surcharges as the US Mint, but the face value is kind of theoretical with such pieces anyway. Silver (900): Ø 37 mm - 22.2 g - EU price €41 Gold (920): Ø 22 mm - 8.45 g - EU price €289 Christian
