Dockwalliper Posted May 18, 2006 Report Share Posted May 18, 2006 A friend at work brought me this quarter. My first thougfht(hope) was missing clad layer. I quickly decided its not. The entire coin is a copper color and looks neat. I can see no sign of sandwiching on the edge but the thickness is regular and the weight is only minutely off. 5.61Grams. I've come to the conclusion that the coin has been stained in some way. Its not like the quarters I dig while detecting that have been in the ground. I scanned it with a quarter from my pocket to show the color. The pic looks kinda brown but the coin has a pinkish copper color in hand. The date is 1998.
