jlueke
I think ANACS gave it a higher grade than I would raw, but it'll probably be cracked out regardless.
jlueke
Based on my new ANA grading standards book I think the obverse makes VF but the eagle looks to weak for that grade. So I'd go with a F15 overall.
Sir Sisu
With the few grading levels that I use, I would just call it Fine. But since you have 2 choices, I put the higher one as I can still make out the shield on the shield.
Burks
I went with a VF20 for the ANACS grade. Personally I'd say F15 if I was buying.
stu62
Another series I avoid. I'd go F12.
jlueke
Well, ANACS gave it a VF30 which seems quite generous...

Vfox
I went for F12, I can't even imagine paying a vf30 for that. I love those coins as well and I am picky as anything when it comes to them. I think maybe I grade them a little hard as well. Meh.
knowtracks
VF-30 is very generous IMO F-12 for me.
gpnyc
Wow. ANACS blew that one. I'd like to see all the rivets on the shield for a VF-30.
jlueke
Wow. ANACS blew that one. I'd like to see all the rivets on the shield for a VF-30. The two aroung 8 o'clock tend to be weak, but I agree with you. On this coin those are missing and a bunch more are barely there. I could stretch this to a VF20 if the reverse was a little better. Ah well, the travails of buying online.
