I wonder what a clad or a Sacagawea would look like done this way.  Probably kinda cool.  :ninja:

 

I beleieve the metal is not soft enough, has to be silver...

 

on that same note if you have big hands you could use a Mogan or a Silver Ike.

Well, it can't hurt to try. At most, it'll cost fifty cents or a dollar, and a little time. I don't mind adding a failed experiment to the annals of human knowledge--heck, a spectacularly failed experiment won one American physicist the Nobel Prize... :ninja:

IIRC the clads and saqs are annealed before striking to soften the metal but the striking process hardens them and more importantly brittles them up. You might be able to make a pre 1982 copper cent into a barbie or ken doll coin ring but the clads and saqs are right out.
