tabbs
Victories of the French(they did?) No, of course not, and anything contradictory will duly not be taught at some schools. But that medal itself is not that appealing, in my opinion, when compared to the Finnish thing. The font used for the Kuninkaanvaali inscription looks a little fat'n'pompous, but otherwise the design is neat. (Sir Sisu, never lose that piece in a yard ... Years later somebody will dig it up and ask questions about "that coin dated 1362", hehe.) Christian

elverno
In February of 1814 Napoleon crushed army after army the Allies sent against him. In fact the Allies changed tactics and retreated when they saw they were facing Napoleon and turned and fought if it was one of his subordinates. This was successful and by March the end was in sight culminating in his first abdication in early April, 1814. February was a great month from Napoleon's perspective but he was fighting a battle he had already lost.
Sir Sisu
Napolean. Very nice! (There are other medals in the series that I have that I like much more, but I only entered the ones that the scanner took somewhat decent images of. One day I will try and take pics of them all.)
