Ætheling
I have the following: 1 coinbuck- 11,25,35,47,49,65,80,81,89,119 5 coinbucks- 28,42,43,50,69 I also have the 5 coinbucks #1, which I am holding on to, for now. I am not concerned about the numbers, just looking to get different types. From what I understand, I got the low coinbucks, so I should be getting the high guineas, right?? If that is correct, then I probably need to trade for a 5 guinea note now, and when I get my 10 & 20 guinea notes, I can trade them for the 10 & 20 coinbucks. Got it in one! Dave
The postman brought me my first 1 & 5 Coinbucks today through trade. As well as these two, I received a 1 Bay Buck local currency note. The coinbucks look nicer!
mmarotta
The coinbucks look nicer! WAY nicer. Bay Bucks are the result of a committee of concerned community volunteers wanting to fight the big box stores that ruin small towns. Coinbucks are the work of individuals who love the forms and uses of money wanting to make some of their own. If you have read THE FOUNTAINHEAD by Ayn Rand (or seen the movie), then you undestand. Ætheling
My 10 and 20 guineas arrived. I am blown away. These are outstanding. It's amazing what you can do on paintbrush picture (no kidding that's all that was used). I did do some notes years back when i had my old Windows 95 computer and more importantly a printer! And i managed to print those double sided with a watermark area. All i did was include some slightly darker dots, when you held it to the light you can see the dots. Obviously that could be extended to a picture of something. There might be a way to do a realistic looking watermark though... Oh and series A notes Mike they should have a security strip in them running down the middle of the note (on the inside), hold them upto the light and you should see a dark line appear. Bright natural light works best. Although one slight issue was that the aluminium or paper stip sometimes moved when sticking the note together and thus it can end up going at all funny angles. I omitted the practice on series B notes because it was shall we say, time consuming.
Guest Stujoe
Coinbucks are now officially famous. SM 98 and Sylvester and the Coinbucks were featured in this month's Numismatist under Michael's Internet column! Congrats and good work to all! SlavicScott
Somehow this whole Guineas and Coinbucks thing passed me by. Would you want to trade for one of the $5 Banc Eirannais Ltd notes?? I have the $1, but it is lonely. Even my "Art's signature series Holiday notes set" has 2 pieces to keep each other company. I will revive my thread in the Want to Trade forum.
