This type of toning is consistent to sulfer & oven heat. I have no idea if acetone would remove it. I have never put acetone on a NT coin or an AT coin..

Acetone or Xylene will not affect color, either AT or NT. All either product does is remove "biologicals" and dirt from coin surfaces.

AT like that can be done by fuming with various volatile chemical preparations according to some accounts I've read. My favorite colors in AT coins ( purples and blues) have usually turned out to be produced using old pulp paper and heat.

 

There are lots of ways of producing colorful toning. I intend to experiment with some cheap silver coins some day to see what I can produce.

Did you ever put several different colored crayons on a throw away cookie sheet and melt them in your oven?

Looks like this guy bought a few of the toning kits off Ebay.

I did check the feedbacks and "Dealers" were buying them :ninja:
