tabbs
The Austrian Mint issues a new collector coin tomorrow, dedicated to the reopening of the Burgtheater and the Opera House in Vienna 50 years ago. Here is a press release (in German) with a picture of the coin: http://www.pressetext.at/pte.mc?pte=051010033 And here is a large (almost 600K) image: http://img.pte.at/photo_db/hi_res/hires16737.jpg Those of you who collect or are familiar with Austrian coins will remember that this theme - Wiedereröffnung der Bundestheater - was also used for the very first commem of the Second Republic: the 25 schilling coin that came out in 1955. The new piece is a silver €10 coin and comes in three versions, "circulation quality", BU and proof. The CQ version can be had at face value in Austria. (Sorry, I am not in or near AT so please don't ask me to get one for you ... ) Christian
