R1722a Zürich, Erstes Freischiessen der Schützengesellschaft Wilhelm
Tell 1852
AR
48mm
Mintage:
Rarity: RRR
Engraver: HH
Note: The variety formerly listed in WM (lead) is a later copy.

I am inserting my picture used from a url on another forum because this site is not allowing me to insert anything but very small (kb) pictures directly from my PC. If anyone could explain, I would appreciate your input.

They change, but here is my current favorite medal.  I love the image of this soldier at the ready with his hand on the hilt of his sword.  I think some of these medals are small works of art.

R1874a Zürich, Jungschützentag
1936
BR
40mm
Mintage:
Rarity: RR
Engraver: Huguenin. Le Locle
Note: As the year has been engraved, various dates may exist. So far, the only date known is 1938.

My medal is from a 1936 young shooter's match, the note above is from Richter's catalog.

If you are asking about the 5 different date Bern cantonal schützenfest medals, they are as follows, left to right: 1965, 1935, 1935, 1928, and 1920

Ahh... I swear I looked over those images 10 times and didn't see the dates until just now.

BEAUTIFUL. Remind me again what the H rarity designates? More or less rare than "R" (etc.)?

Per the Richter catalog-

H:          Common: more than 50 specimens available. Important: See also "Market availability".

R:          Rare: <50 specimens available.

RR:       Very Rare: <25 specimens available.

RRR:     Extremely Rare: <5 specimens available.

RRRR:  Unique

UN:      Unknown. Most probably medals have been struck, but so far, no medal has appeared on the market.

Based on my 38 years of collecting and my Father's 56 years of collecting, the specific number values above may be somewhat fluid.
