Sir Sisu
The Rome denarius. I have little knowledge of ancients, so I have to go with pure aesthetics on this one and the denarius wins it for me.

banivechi
Ptolemaeus. Beautiful eagle and double striked unshaved face. And... what a colour!!!
Ætheling
I have to say i have a fondness for Denarii and thus i had to vote for that one. However i have to ask about the Egyptian one, the holes on the front and the back are these test 'cuts', i have encountered these before on Athenian Owls (except they were bigger and deeper and on the owl side only). josemartins
... Is this a rare piece? ... No, quite the opposite, actually... I'm pretty sure that if you search for "Tullia" at Vcoins, you'll find some. Jose
Scottishmoney
I have to say i have a fondness for Denarii and thus i had to vote for that one. However i have to ask about the Egyptian one, the holes on the front and the back are these test 'cuts', i have encountered these before on Athenian Owls (except they were bigger and deeper and on the owl side only). These coins were cast of course, and to get them to a determined weight standard they were put in a lathe and the edges shaved or ground, which accounts for the holes impressed into each side.
