Jokerman
I am interested in the manufacturer Allen and More located in Birmingham, UK which produced medals in the mid 19th century (http://sculpture.gla.ac.uk/view/organization.php?id=msib4_1211883044), and wonder if there exists any archive of their business. And if so where it is located.
constanius
There is not much info available on-line, except snippets here & there, though Forrer's does list most of their output, when searching make sure that you spell Moore(2 O's). http://www.digitalbookindex.org/_search/refsearchbiodict.asp scroll down for Forrer, Leonard Biographical Dictionary of Medallists. Here is one of mine http://www.coinpeople.com/index.php/topic/20830-jenny-lind-medal-1847/ Another, will post more later.
Art1.2
Nice medals. I really like the details they engraved for these. It's fine work.
Jokerman
Thanks for the link and for sharing pictures. I am still interested in more info about Allen & Moore if anybody has something to share. My interest in this company comes from a series of 6 medals by generals fighting on the Danish side in the first Schleswig war (1848-1850). I can share pictures but didn't find out how. constanius
I use Photobucket, it is a free service, just upload the images there and then post the "direct" hhp.... link(found under share links) here, by using the picture frame icon, just below the smiley face, in the header above, which is visible when posting a reply.
