It's unusual to find a commemorative half dollar with this much wear. While many coins entered circulation most were recaptured way before they reached this level. I'm guessing this was a pocket piece for many many years. vs ScottO's 1690 Tin Farthing A rare coin, made out of a material that does not survive the tests of time very well, huge chunks missing, and very few details remain.
