Jehyde
Hi, I found this penny just outside a rabbit warren while i was walking. The fact that it had been underground for a hundred years only for a rabbit to uncover it and for me to find it is amazing. As you can see from the pictures, it's not in great condition but could any one tell me what it's worth?
Jazinta
Probably nothing. In such condition it's not really too collectible. If it as uncirculated, it's worth $100 or more.
ScottO
depends, need a clear picture of the obverse
ccg
Judging from the reverse details, it looks to be G/G+ for grade, which would suggest that it was likely lost several decades after it was made, perhaps in the 1950s-60s.
ccg
Still a neat find nonetheless!
Jehyde
Thank you all for your help. I found it near an old (now gone) railway line which, my dad says, was built in the early 1900's, which made me believe that a worker might have lost it. Still, it's a lucky find and I'll hang on to it
