Another currency reform was made in 1839. It made the new copper coins to be equal in value with silver coins (X Kopejki Serebrom = X Silver Kopeks). Coins were issued in values of 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2 and 3 kopeks, it was decided not to have a 5 kopek piece because it would have been too huge.

 

These coins, minted in St.Petersburg and Jekaterinburg, bear the monogram of emperor Nicholas I, HI, and on the reverse there's nominal value, date and mintmark(EM, SPM, SM).
