ang
I have two 1922 Copper Pennies...and the reverse looks different on each, but because one is worn I can't tell if it is toothed or beaded... Am I just being too optimistic?? Can anyone with an expert eye tell?? If my pictures are a poor quality, let me know and I will try again. :-) Ang Beaded? Toothed? ccg
Both looked toothed to me. Generally, there has to be a gap from the edge for a type to be considered beaded.
ang
Which are the rare ones? Toothed or beaded?
ccg
As far as I'm aware the main scarce piece is the 1860 1/4d muled toothed/beaded and beaded/toothed pieces. Perhaps someone else may be familiar with later instances.
ang
Ah I heard that the 1922 with the 1927 reverse is sought after. Anyone know if I have one of these rarer ones?
ScottO
they are beaded ones, the toothed one is differant.
ang
:-) Sorry, I am new to this. So I'm confused. Are the ones I have beaded? And do mine have the 1927 reverse? Thanks!!!
ScottO
they are both beaded, the toothed ones look differant, a quick google and you can see one, the trident is pointing at a differant spot
HarveyJMartha
Oh! you have spotted them perfectly. In case, you still want to re confirm I suggest you visit a coin dealer.
Britcoin
Confirmed, beaded. The toothed are rev. 1927. I think you can get a specimen set, unique in private hands that has a Specimen64 1922 rev. 1927 (two known in specimen) on Heritage for 60,000 USD!
