jaskel
Hi Sidney, like to ask your opinion as you are the expert in Straits Settlements coin. Recently I found this 50 cent coin on the observe it show some thread of reeded edges. Is this PMD or PMJ? The shape of it is directly opposite of the ' 0 ' position of the reverse. If is a PMJ, the area there should be compressed isn't it? Â
thedeadpoint
Wow, what a pic!
sidney
Sorry I do not know the term PMD & PMJ.
jaskel
Sorry I do not know the term PMD & PMJ. PMD = Post Mint Damage , PMJ = Post Mint Job
jaskel
Like this this 1920 straits settlements 50 cent coin. I believe is a Post mint job (PMJ). Is not a error rather like is a jewellery job. Â
Art1.2
I believe the edge markings are from being stored and moved about in bags with other coins.
jaskel
I believe the edge markings are from being stored and moved about in bags with other coins. Most likely not, if cause by other coins it will be a dent in image.

Art1.2
Beautiful coin. Â Does the "H" have the same meaning on Canadian large cents?
sidney
Beautiful coin. Â Does the "H" have the same meaning on Canadian large cents? Â The "H" does have the same link to the Canadian coinage. Coins between the years 1858 - 1907 were minted in England either by the Royal Mint of London or the Heaton Mint in Birmingham with the "H" letter mint-mark.
