bagerap
No particular reason to post except that I've been after one of these for a long time. Pretty isn't it?
Art1.2
It is very pretty and sharing with your friends is always a good reason to post. Thanks for that. Can you tell us a bit about it?
constanius
Like Art said, sharing is reason enough, posting comments is a good idea too
Ian
always good to see a jeton of that particular type .....got any more to show us?
bagerap
Art, I'm not quite sure of the reasons for these jetons. Issued in the name of the Receiver General of the Poor, it's made of copper so no value in circulation. Unlike the silver jetons given to the Receiver and his cronies which were made of silver and had monetary worth. It's possible they were given to the poor to exchange for some kind of dole but I'm hoping Ian can give me some pointers on this. Because I'm fairly promiscuous in my collecting habits, it's likely that I will be trying to get a few more of these; and thus a new collection is born. Again.
