1775 Georgius III : England or America or counterfeit ?

Recommended Posts

This coin is a counterfeit, you can tell by the folds of the gown over the right shoulder, they show 3 folds whereas the genuine only has one.

This coin was circulated in both Britain and North America.

Counterfeights are actualy worth more than the genuins, A genuin like yours would fetch in FINE condition about $10.00, Your coin in the same shape is worth about $20.00.

Mio - yes, and the first of the three also appears to be brass.

The market for these has weakened considerably in recent years as several very active collectors have passed away, resulting in both decreased interest and increased supply.
