1989 D Lincoln Cent---Attacked by The Blob

Recently while searching my pocket change I came across this unusual condition
At first I just thought that this 1989d cent had a bunch of crud on both the Obverse and Reverse.
I grabbed my Eschenbach 9x loupe and discovered that the crud wasn't on the surface but emanating
from inside the coin through fissures on both sides of the coin.
I probed the hole on the Obverse and found that the substance was some sort of grainy white paste.
The only thing I can think of is that this paste is some sort of alloying paste or
machinery lubricant that got rolled into the strip before plating and punching of the coin strip.
Below the following pics are the links to the really big pictures that should open in a seperate tab for viewing.

Click on these for the really big pictures.
<A HREF=http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/0/2/4/5/7/0/webimg/549211955_o.jpg target="_blank"Big Picture1
<A HREF=http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/0/2/4/5/7/0/webimg/549211821_o.jpg target="_blank"Big Picture2
<A HREF=http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/0/2/4/5/7/0/webimg/549211660_o.jpg target="_blank"Big Picture3
<A HREF=http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/0/2/4/5/7/0/webimg/549211468_o.jpg target="_blank"Big Picture4
By all means chime in. Give your opinion of what the "blob condition" is.
