Oriental_sugar
4x British £5 silver coins from 1998 -2001 I’ve just inherited four £5 coins; I already have a small collection of older British coins but I don’t really know much about coins, I just like having them! I don’t know if I can class them as proof coins as they have some tiny knocks around the edges & they don’t look as shiny as they potentially could. They all benefit from not having any scratch though. Any advise on how to safely clean them up would be helpful. Any bits of interesting info you have on them I would be happy to hear. MY BIG QUESTION IS DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW MANY OF THEM ARE IN CIRCULATION FOR EACH OF THESE COINS: 1. Millennium coin 1999 2. In memory of Diana Princess of Wales 1999 3. Fiftieth birthday of the H.R.H the Prince of Wales 1998 4. Victoria 2001 The coins are all silver. Thanks

From that description it sounds like they're circulation issue nickel £5 pieces rather than silver ones, which would be in pristine condition when issued in their packaging. Spinks' SCBC doesn't seem to provide mintage for the circulation issue.
