Travis
I have been wondering about a Large printed $10 bill my grandfather gave before he passed away. By large printed I mean the size of the bill is as big as my keyboard. The reason I am wondering if it is real is that it states "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private". I have done some research and found if it is fake it is not allowed to say that. So I am wondering, is this a real ten dollar bill of just some marketing joke from 1969? ccg
That would be a novelty. Different countries have different laws on what a novelty / copy is permitted to look like, and they do change over time, so what was once legal to produce might no longer be permitted. For example, at least one type of "million dollar bill" has been banned in Canada as it was considered too similar looking to regular notes.
