dakota
Hello, I'm new as a collecter, but very intersted in coins from the former soviet union,I've heard that they're in quit high demand at the moment, so I wanted to know if the one I found on the web, is affordable for me?? I know that some rare ones sell for a lot. I only have a few pictures of it and a few details, can anybody tell me more about this, and hopefully what the value would be, so I know if I can pursue it. The coin is dated 1922-1972 and I think it's for a 50th anniversery of something( but my russian isn't what it used to be). The size is 5.6 cm across, 4mm thick, I don´t know which material, but it looks silver or platinum, the weight is 90 grams. Please give me some more details, if you might know them. Kind regards, dakota

Kind regards, dakota This is a medal (not a coin) commemorating the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Soviet Union. I am not familiar with it, but I would venture to guess that it is not composed of any precious metals. I can't offer any information with regards to the price of this piece. Perhaps somebody else here can help with that?
