Interesting link to over 1,000 fake slabs

This just appeared over on the RCC Usenet bulletin board (rec.collecting.coins):

"The folks here might enjoy this photo collection (1,300 plus) of

counterfeits covering most aspects of numismatics. A little bit of

everything. Click onto the photostream or review the individual sets and

photos. PCGS appears to be by far the top choice for the Chinese TPG

forgers. Hundreds pictured. PCGS deleted this post from

their message board"

The link was OK when I just went there (no porn, etc.).

Thanks for posting, bobh. THAT is unbelievable. Counterfeiters are catching up to the "genuine" product faster than we think, and even a TPG slab is not a guarantee of authenticity anymore, that's scary...

What do you guys think is the next step in preventing these forgeries? I mean, can NGC or PCGS add something to their slabs that cannot be faked? I was thinking of credit cards for example... you can copy the raised number of the credit card, but you must also know the shorter "flat" number on the back for security purposes. Maybe it's time to do something like that on slabs, where another number that is only known to you if you have the slab at hand will be the difference between real and fake? It's a shame we've come to this point.
