dutch72
Hello all new to this and was wondering if somebody could help me I have a Dutch square 5 cent coin. The inscription read 30 jaar vrij (30 years free) It also has both queens on it. Wilhemina en juliana. Does anybody know the story behind the coin and the value ? I have had this since I was a kid and am so curious about it. Thanks everyone.
DreamFLight911
It sounds like you have a medallion commemorating the 30th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands. The reverse is that of Netherlands KM#153 (1913-40 5c, later used for Netherlands Antilles). As far as I'm concerned, the piece is not a coin variant, but rather a medallion, possibly privately stuck, but likely a product of the Dutch Mint.
