squirrel
date looks like 1787 to me.
nicholasz219
Thanks Squirrel, I thought I saw the same thing. He has an EM reverse in the first photo and then a 1788 obverse. But then the TM seems associated with a defaced 1787 obverse. I'd avoid it, if only for the fact of I wouldn't be sure of what I would be getting. Either a 1788 EM or a damaged 1787 TM. one-kuna
Hello! Whether there are doubts in authenticity on this coin? first coin 5 kop 1788 EM is listed incorrectly, and it is not Bitkin 640 the second one is 1787 TM (not 1788) and price seems not high
lennysky
The averse in the TM is decent, but the reverse is very poor. I purchased mine for $125 on ebay. It is not beautiful, but certainly worth it at that price.
gxseries
Lennysky, how long ago did you purchase your coin? For the last two years, prices have been stubbornly strong for at least over 600USD in reasonable condition.
lennysky
Respectfully, I understand what you are saying. My coin, surprizingly and fortunately for me, was purchased at the height of the market, after which prices for all, but the rare pieces climbed lower. I agree that the cost for one in reasonable condition should be from $500-$1,000, but was the coin shown in such a condition? Maybe my grading is off a bit, for which I appologize. The current topic coin is in quite a nice grade for the issue. The dig mark on the date is unfortunate. Otherwise would easily fetch over $1000 today, without question. lennysky
Thank you. I'd like to get a 1787TM to match mine (even if in the same condition).

lennysky
The problem is, I don't want to pay much more than I paid for 1788
BKB
Then, in this day and age, you will probably not be able to see the date, much less, the mintmark, on a piece of crap you will be able to buy with that much $.
