elverno
1788 Centenary of the Glorious Revolution, Great Britain. 27mm BHM - 289 D&H, Middlesex, National Series, No. 948 For me the British celebrating a Revolution a year before the French Revolution began is rich... Saor Alba
Like the scalloped edge on it too. The "Glorious Revolution" was a big deal and still impacts the current political situation in Britain - that being that the Stuarts are not on the throne, and the monarch is the head of the Church of England and not subject to the Vatican. constanius
1788 Centenary of the Glorious Revolution, Great Britain. If the designer of the token had placed the 'gap' for William's hair between the III & DEI William's bust could have been rotated to be squarely above the date. As it is, you have to either have the date at the bottom & William with his nose stuck in the air(& what a nose) or William looking straight ahead and the date twisted up under his arm. I too like the scalloped edge.
hiho
Interesting token/medal. The scalloped edge reminds me of this... However the edge on my duit was done by a bored Dutchman with too much free time of his hands.
