Inscription within open wreath. TO/COMMEMORATE/THE VISIT OF/ALBERT EDWARD/PRINCE OF WALES/TO/CANADA/1860 It was the first official visit of a senior member of the British Royal Family to North America. The Prince of Wales arrive at St. John's Newfoundland on 24 July 1860, went to Halifax, Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto & other communities. Then on 20 September he visited the USA till 20 October, arriving back at Plymouth, England 15 November. Here is another one for the Canadian part of the visit(previously post) Albert Edward Prince of Wales 1860 Æ 48 mm by J. S. WYON SC. & M.D.WYATT DES. Bust left VISITED CANADA AND INAUGURATED THE VICTORIA BRIDGE 1860 Reverse: around arms, WELCOME on banners 3 times BHM-2669 One for the US leg(previously posted) he visited Albany, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, St Louis and Washington. It is so much better in the hand, thedeadpoint shamed me into taking a picture showing its true condition albeit with reflections. Though only listed as WM it is silvered WM.
