bridgieboy1973
i have recently found in my grandmothers loft a number of different coins and have found information on most of them however this one is proving ellusive to finding out the history and value of the coin.i think its date is 1794 and and is a half penny sized conder token.it has a picture of the castle on one side and on the other it has a picture of what looks like an animal being hung by a noose in the middle of its body.if anyone has any information on this coin i would be very grateful,i have no knowledge of this or the other coins however, once i have now started looking into it i am finding myself hooked on coins and their history, thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from someone
Saor Alba
Sounds like a conder token, my there were so so many tokens issued in Norfolk, and in particular Norwich - so many so that I exclude them from my token searches on the internet. Yours is a fairly common piece, but all interesting the while.
