atlantida
Does anyone know what is this and what the Pick number is? Is this even real? I could not find it in the catalog. http://yfrog.com/5bpholtj
SMS
It purports to be a 1 fen/cent note from Taiwan (thus the characters on the reverse top and the Central Bank of China on obverse). I cannot find any information on this particular note. A better/larger scan would help to fully identify the note. Does that say "American Banknote Company" on the bottom obverse? Get a larger scan and I'll be able to give you at least a date to help in your search.
Saor Alba
Without looking at my catalogue yet, some of those smaller denomination notes were printed by the Chung Hwa Book Printing Company in China.
ccg
Looks like 28th year of the Republic, which would be 1939
atlantida
I looked into all Pick catalogues and can't find it. It is unusual to see a "ONE CENT" note. Wonder why is it not in the catalogue, if it's "issued" by THE CENTRAL BANK OF CHINA? Did you find it in the catalogue or some Chinese specialised catalogue perhaps? Or could this be a "novelty/fake"? The person who owns it does not know how to make a bigger scan and won't provide me with a larger scan.
Saor Alba
The Pick Catalogues are notorious for not being well edited, they are compilations of materiel that people send in to the editors - so frankly I read them with a grain of salt. With that stated, I went and looked in my current Pick catalogue and have found the note, it is P-224, and was printed by either Union Publishers and Printers or Union Printing Company in the United States. The former is P-224a and is worth $1.50 in uncirculated, the latter is P-224b and is worth $8.00 in uncirculated.
MMMM
Does anyone know what is this and what the Pick number is? Is this even real? I could not find it in the catalog. http://yfrog.com/5bpholtj Pick 224 from 1939. It is on Page 278 of "Standard Catalog of World Paper Money, General Issues – 1368 to 1960" 12th edition. Or on Ron Wise's Site the section China Page 2.
chinnotes
Comparing the notes P.224a and P.224b with specimens in my collections, I see that this is evidently P.224a, printed by "UNION PUBLISHERS & PRINTERS. FED.INC.USA". The imprint on P.224b "UNION PRINTING Co.USA" would be much shorter. Erwin
