Greek Coin?

I'm trying to find out what I have here. I have found several Greek coins very similar but nothing exact. I am assuming the reverse of the coin is an owl? I have spent hours searching through forumancientcoins.com and many other sources with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated on origin and possible value. Thanks

Thanks for the responses. I had a feeling it was fake originally but there are so many coins out there that made me think it was possibly real. Either way, I found out most are not real valuable but it would be a neat item to own if authentic. Any other thoughts out there?

Looks like a fake/copy/imitation piece to me.

Ditto, sorry, but at least you now know there are some inexpensive ancient Greek coins out there. Perhaps that 'fake/copy/imitation' coin might lead you to buy one. If it does, happy collecting :ninja:

Indeed, there's plenty of inexpensive ancient coins available to a new collector. I'm not as familiar with the Greek coins, but many nice Roman coins are available for under $50. For common Roman copper coins, many very legible ones are available for under $10. I'd check out www.vcoins.com, a virtual mall of coin dealers with many selling ancients.
