Rhino
Here's a larger view (front and back) than was previously posted: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inq-phi...ll_flipped.html And yes, the release date for the public is February 2011. I love the design Very modern. I like the older, classic bills, but this new full set of colorful ones really carries a more "21st century America" image. I hope they redesign the $1, as well. Not so much for security reasons, but just add a little color and design to a bill that hasn't seen changes in a hundred years.
klark
Interesting note is a very modern! I do not think is a very nice note, but a bill that looks good in any collection! I hope to come and to Romania!
see323
I think it look very much prettier than the older series. At least it is now more colourful.
jtryka
Ugh...big head money now Euro-Socialist...but don't worry about me, I've hated all then new designs since they started putting special ed giant print on the back of the 50 in 1997. ccg
Overall, I like it. It has nice adaptations of new features while at the same time retaining the classic 'greenback' look to it. I do find the big orange '100' on the back to be artisically out of place, much like the big purple '5'.
MauMauNotes
it's strange... lol, i cant say its a beautiful note ofc its something 'different' considering the 'cream' of artists and tecnology they have, they could have made a piece of art, they ended doing a mess (cool things, different things, mixing them, exaggerated things) maybe in hand it will look different (all those effects) imho

A beautiful design, with lots of artistic elements, might obscure the high tech details which are absolutely essential to see, because it's those details that will allow the public to easily spot counterfeits. With the ease of creating color art with copiers, computers, scanners, etc., embedded high tech is the way all currency will be going until currency is rendered obsolete by the use of electronic payment media, a process that is already happening. I pay for pretty much everything I buy with a credit card. I keep $40 in my wallet and can go for weeks without needing to replenish it. If you like beautifully designed and printed banknotes, collect the old stuff. Marv Finnley

I agree. I have quite a few 1928 and 1934 notes and you know, when you flick through a wad of the $100's they look like money. They excite the senses, I cannot say the same for these big head narsties. And to think that this represented several months wages for most people back then - this was big money. They excite the senses, I cannot say the same for these big head narsties. And to think that this represented several months wages for most people back then - this was big money. look at all those stylized leaves (or similar objects on many diff. notes) emblems, artworks http://kasunh.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/1dollar.gif it seems like they moved for BIG FACE + BIG MONUMENT, surrounded by photoshop layers of basic pictures (like the Fire or the Eagle) - and why not a stylized old style eagle added with the modern procedures or something like that ::: what a nice frame they make ::: i think we are in a period of lower quality (and not only about us notes) maybe some day later we will be back at a better quality(old style+modern tech and security) developed by this current misery http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...6;2_reverse.jpg btw i readed many critics to the latest new Danish Notes, to the new Swiss project and of course to the Euro Serie while the producers claim they are a wonderful result it\'s artistically a disgrace, while talking about money they are great in all their tech and security things, but the artist side (and they pay millions also to artists to make great designs) falls in the WC
Capt-AWACS
Would like to have seen them offset the ribbon of power to the far left side (or right depending on water mark). It is ok except, again, for the strip placemnt IMO. Ciao, AWACS

KoRnholio
I kinda like it, other than the giant out of place "100" on the reverse. They probably could have found a way to move the security stripe behind Franklin's head too.
